Introduction

Education expands our vision and creates awareness. It helps us develop a disciplined life and provides us with better earning opportunities. It enables us to know the world beyond our own surroundings. Education is also a prerequisite of the prosperity and modernization of any country. Education plays a vital role in shaping successful people. It gives us the opportunity to become a productive member of a civilized society by acquiring all the necessary skills. We learn how to meet challenges and overcome obstacles. We learn how to become an integrated personality and maintain the perpetuation of our culture. People learn basic norms, rules, regulations, and values of society through education. Moreover, high quality education enables us to lead a successful life, enhances our intelligence, skills, knowledge, and brings positive changes in our life. The aim of Education should provide young people with skills needed to build competency and wisdom to face the world and lead a harmonious life of coexistence in society.

Education is definitely important in one`s life. A gift of knowledge can bring us to the top of our dreams. It leads us to the right path and gives us a chance to have a wonderful life. Education makes people capable of doing new interesting things that can go a long way to improving human living conditions and standards. Our whole life is the process of learning and gaining new useful knowledge. We should always remember that getting a good education is imperative in today`s society as it is a foundation of our successful future. Our education is really worth investment. Only if you believe and work hard you can achieve anything.

Far from the Madding-Crowd under the Green-Wood Trees, surrounded by the Dholadhar ranges of the Himalayas, situated at a distance of about 10 km from Pathankot on Pathankot-Dalhousie Highway, Sri Sai College of Education, Badhani established in the year 2004 recognised by National Council For Teacher Education and affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar is another illuminating feather in the ever glowing cap of Sri Sai Group of Institutes conscientiously conceptualized, excellently organized.
Sri Sai College of Education bears the uniqueness of inculcating dynamic values in the teachers they shape for the future. The college has a multi-storey building which consists of well lighted, well ventilated and fully furnished Class rooms, Administrative Office, Rich Library, Well Equipped Resource Centres, Multipurpose Hall and separate Hostels, for boys and Girls, with excellent facilities, offering courses for M.Ed., B.Ed., D.El.Ed. The college is privileged to have a team of dedicated intellectual capital who make all sorts of possible efforts to see that teaching and learning goes simultaneously. It is self-financed privately managed college imparting best teacher education. Presently it is running three courses such as M.Ed., B.Ed. and D.El.Ed.

Message from Principal's Desk

Greetings! I am pleased to welcome the students, teachers, teacher educators, community members and all other stakeholders to Sri Sai College of Education, Badhani, Pathankot, Punjab. It is very rightly said by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam that “Let us scarifies our today so that our children can have better tomorrow”. In the light of Dr.Kalam thoughts, I being teacher educator and leader of educational institution I personally feel that it is our duty to work hard today in the field of education so that we can plan and think about better future of our young minds. Today in the age of globalization, privatization and digitalization our youth are facing number of problems related to their health, emotions, social relationships, adjustment at home, adjustment at school and college. It is the prime duty of teachers and teachers of teachers to bring out the youth from these problems which are creating hindrance in their goal achievement. We are well known that from ancient time to till date the position of the teacher is always on the top and teachers are treated as Guru. That is why very truly said that “Guru Bramaha, Guru Vishnu, Guru DevoMaheshwara, Guru SakshatParam Brahma, TasmiShriGuruvayNamah”. Guru is the only person in this universe who produces Engineers, Doctors, Philosophers, Psychologists, Architects, Defence Personals, Teachers and Good Human Beings. Nelson Mandela described the term education very smartly through his words that “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." So to change the world teachers or teacher educators have to work hard to provide better education to our children at school, college as well as university level. It gives me immense pleasure that I joined such a wonderful institution i.e. Sri Sai College of Education, Bandhani, Pathankot, affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University which is well known and reputed college of education whose vision, mission, values and objectives are meeting the needs of today’s learners. This is the only education college in the district Pathankot and Gurdaspur where the focus of the institution is not only to provide theoretical education in the classroom but practical and skill-based education as per the needs of industry such as Schools, Colleges and Universities. It is the place where students have opportunities to get extra other than the curriculum. Every faculty member of this institution works for the betterment of students so that they can achieve their desired goals easily. Presently the college is running three courses of teacher education i.e. M.Ed., B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. that all are approved by NCTE and accredited by NAAC. We as a team of Sri Sai College of Education plan activities as per the needs of future teachers and future teacher educators. For M.Ed. our major focus is to make them able to qualify their UGC-NET/JRF and to enhance their positive attitude towards research, for B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. our major concern is to prepare them to qualify their teacher eligibility test, enhance their communication skills and IT skills which are the minimum important requirements to become a good teacher. By involving students in research activities, skill based activities and social activities we try to repay society. I am very thankful to the parents, students and all the stakeholders for believing in us and giving us the opportunity to provide better and need-based education to their wards. I am pleased to welcome and invite you in our educational journey of research, innovation, exploration and learning. I assure you all that I along with my dedicated team will continually polish our educational practices and innovative programs to produce quality and career-ready teachers and teacher educators to enter in the 21st-century modern smart classroom schools. Last but not least I am very thankful to the management of Sri Sai College of Education for providing me a platform to serve the nation.
