The womens day was celebrated with great fervour in the Pharmacy College of Manawala Campus.

DCA Week

The Pharmacy organized DCA Week from 13th to 17th Feb, 2019. It helped students to enhance their technical knowledge and bridge the gap between theoretical training and practical learning in real life environment. The students of D.Pharma and B.Pharma participated in the event.

                    Lab Facilities

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Sri Sai College of Pharmacy has excellent Pharmacy setup that allows the students to get a better grasp of the subjects. Prime focus is always laid on research as this sole factor shall contribute greatly towards a successful career ahead. This is achieved by numerous state-of-the-art labs supported by well trained lab technicians where students get to perform Practicals under guidance of experienced Faculty.

Department Laboratories

• PHARMACEUTICS LABS
  • The objectives of these labs is to provide practical exposure to the budding pharmacists on Physical Pharmaceutics, Manufacturing Operations, Preformulation Screening Tests, Designing Evaluation and Pharmacokinetic study of solid, liquid, semisolid dosage forms including Novel Drug Delivery Systems like ocular, nasal, transungual, transmucosal, translabial, transnabhi, soft palatal drug delivery systems etc. which curtail the drug dose and minimizes the drug adverse reactions with excellent patient compliance.

• PHARMACOGNOSY LABS
  • The primary objective of these labs is to provide practical exposure to Undergraduates and Research Students on Tissue Culture Techniques, Sterilization Techniques including Antibiotic Assay, Microbial Screening, etc.

• PHARMACOLOGY LABS
  • Pharmacology Lab is well equipped with Rotarod, Pole Climbing Apparatus, Convulsiometer, Analgesiometer and Software’s for performing practical’s etc.

• MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY LABS
  • Medicinal Chemistry Labs are well equipped with sophisticated instruments like HPLC (Agilent), UV Spectrophotometer 1800 (Shimadzu), Karl Fischer Titrator, Gel Electrophoresis (Genei) etc. The students will be exposed to analyze the organic and inorganic compounds as per Pharmacopoeial Standards along with practical experience for synthesizing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients etc.

Pharmacy College

Introduction

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) is a four-year undergraduate program in which students study the methods and process of preparing drugs and how does the dispensing of medicine and drugs take place. Anyone who aspires to be a pharmacist today, it is mandatory for them to undertake this course so that they have thorough and in-depth knowledge of the science of the medicine.

Pharmacy is an ever green profession and jobs are in plenty. Pharmacy deals with medicines and health system comprises Doctors, Pharmacist and Nurses. Pharmacist covers all aspect of Medicine, Manufacture, marketing, distribution, Quality control, Quality assurance, Raw material manufacture, Export, Finished Formulation manufacture, Research of New Medicines in Teaching, Clinical Research etc. are the areas where a pharmacist gets a job after education. Established in the year 2004 with a goal to impart quality education, Sri Sai College of Pharmacy (SSCP) is equipped with the best infrastructure to prepare students to become successful professionals. With an upsurge in employment markets in the Pharma sector in Northern India, SSCP aims at catering to the aspirations of the industry. Interactive sessions with professionals, industrial visits, freedom to do research work and round the clock internet and library facility help students reach their destinations effectively. To achieve this mission, the students are being inculcated with a strong foundation of knowledge essential to the pharmacy profession. Imbibing the art of critical thinking makes the young pharmacists fit in to stand the test of time. Well equipped laboratories are an added advantage to the young researchers.

The regulatory body for the program is Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), which is responsible for laying down all norms and regulations for the B.Pharma course.

The Department has highly qualified faculty members specialized in different areas of pharmaceutical sciences; their unstinted efforts in career building of the students inspire them to reach to the newer heights of excellence in their academic pursuits.
